Tangerines, a type of mandarin orange, are a surprisingly diverse citrus fruit, varying in flavour from sweet to refreshingly tart, and ranging in size, from egg-sized, right through to grapefruit proportions!

Ravenhill is part of The Orchard Fruit Company, and is a trusted brand with a unique understanding of the British palette, specialising in sourcing and marketing only the very best quality fruit. Ravenhill is targeted at retailers who value taste and flavour, with their exciting range of fresh, seasonal fruit and vegetables, which also includes speciality, ‘luxe’ vegetables such as asparagus, cherries and rhubarb. Developing products in partnership with leading stores and renowned for taking customer feedback seriously, Ravenhill’s continued success is down to the company’s flexible, forward-thinking approach.

Ravenhill tangerines have been tested by the Tasterbuds consumer panel, a carefully targeted research group of approximately 100 ABC1 individuals in the South-East of England, who were selected to provide detailed feedback. Over half rated them as significantly tastier than other tangerine brands, with comments including ‘bursting with flavour’ and ‘full of juice!’

So how do the public like to consume their tangerines? Our panel told us:

“My speciality is a tangerine champagne cocktail.”

“As a child, ‘Santa’ always used to put a tangerine in my Christmas stocking. Even the smell of them reminds me of Christmas.”

“I split the tangerine into segments for my daughter’s lunchbox. She’s a fussy eater but loves Ravenhill tangerines.”

Ravenhill tangerines cost £3.00 for a box of 750g from Ocado.

Responding to consumer demand, the mixed Lemon, Lime and Orange collection, containing a minimum of 12 fruit for only £3.99, comes neatly packed in a handy box to keep the fruit safe from being bruised. Either place the box in your fridge or store in a cool, dark place away from sunlight. Working out at just 33.3p per fruit, it’s great consumer value and cheaper than buying each fruit individually.

The mixed citrus box has been tested by the unique Tasterbuds panel, a carefully targeted research group of approximately 100 ABC1 individuals in the South-East of England, who were selected to provide detailed feedback. Comments included, “Having the set of fruits handily boxed means I quickly find the fruit I need for every guest’s preferred drink.”

“I find the box of fruits very versatile for savoury dishes such as fish and Thai cooking but also for desserts and juicing. It’s great!”

So how do the public enjoy their citrus fruits? Our Tasterbuds panel told us:
“I love a G&T with a generous squeeze of lime and a good quality tonic.”

“Every morning I drink hot water with a slice of fresh lemon – an easy way to detox on a daily basis and great for your body!”

“My speciality is lemon drizzle cake, which I make for my four children. I like knowing I have a supply of fresh lemons to hand.”

“My children aren’t too keen on fruit, but they love OrchardWorld oranges, so every day I cut them into segments for their packed lunches.”

Another taster told us, “Opening my fridge to find the box each day reminds me to add a slice of fruit to the kids’ glasses of water now and then. It makes tap water much tastier, so no one complains now!”
